What is Vermuth?

This new tradition of drinking vermouth comes from the German word “wermut”, which means wormwood, one of the ingredients commonly used in its production. Traditionally, these were wines served as an aperitif and believed to have medicinal properties. Although its origins trace back to Hippocrates, the famous Greek physician, it was the Piedmontese Antonio Benedetto Carpano who is considered the creator of modern vermouth in 1786.

Where does it originate from?

A century-old recipe of more than 140 years. The legacy of Sansón dates back to 1876 and the production of wines using the traditional solera system in the D.O. Málaga. Over time, past and present generations have pursued the same dream: to craft aromatized wines of the highest quality.
